Bear’s Show and Tell

It’s show and tell day at school. Bear has a mystery box. What’s inside?

It was show and tell day. Everyone had brought something special. Lena had a toy dinosaur. Another child had a big book. Bear held a little box tightly, with a secret inside.

‘Now, Bear,’ said Ella the elephant. ‘What have you brought?’ Bear felt a bit shy. His thing was so small. What if no one liked it? But he stood up bravely.

Bear opened the box very slowly. The whole class leaned forward. Inside was a shiny stone! Bear said, ‘I found it on my walk to school. It made me smile, so I wanted to show you.’

‘Ooooh!’ said the children. Lena said, ‘Can I hold it?’ Everyone wanted to see. Bear passed it round carefully, and every face lit up with wonder.

‘What a lovely thing to share,’ said Ella. Bear beamed. The best things aren’t always big. Sometimes, they’re small and found by someone who looks closely.
