Cosmo’s Lemonade Stand
Cosmo opens a lemonade stand to earn money, but ends up giving away more than he sells.
It was a boiling hot day. Cosmo set up a lemonade stand outside the house with a sign that said, ‘Lemonade 10p’. He was saving up for a toy rocket.
The first customer was Daisy, who had been playing football. Daisy was red-faced and thirsty but had no money. Cosmo filled a cup anyway. ‘It’s on the house,’ he said. Daisy gulped it down with a grin.
Then Uma the pony came by, looking hot and tired. Cosmo gave her a cup and a seat in the shade. ‘You’re very kind,’ said Uma. ‘Please, have a second.’
By evening, Cosmo had given away nearly every cup. Hardly any coins were in the jar. But Cosmo felt warm inside. ‘Maybe I’ll save up another day,’ he thought.
Just then, Uma came back, carrying something wrapped in paper. ‘I was thinking about your kindness,’ said Uma. Inside was a toy rocket. ‘For the kindest lemonade seller in town.’
The little lesson

Let’s talk about it
- Would you give lemonade away?
