Dot the Dinosaur’s Big Sleepover

It’s Dot the dinosaur’s first sleepover, and the dark seems very big.

Dot the dinosaur was having a sleepover! Stan the squirrel and Sam the little bird were coming, and they’d brought pillows, blankets and teddies.

First, they built a blanket fort. Then they had a midnight feast of warm milk. Dot laughed so much that her big tail knocked over the lamp.

Then it was time for bed. Dot climbed into her big, comfy bed. ‘Goodnight,’ said Stan. ‘Goodnight,’ said Sam. The light went off, and the room became very dark.

Dot lay awake. She thought about how very big and dark the night was. Her tail twitched. ‘Are you awake?’ whispered Stan. ‘I can’t sleep,’ said Dot.

‘I can’t either,’ said Sam. ‘I have an idea,’ said Stan, and pulled out a glowing moon rock. The room filled with a warm, soft glow. The dark didn’t feel big anymore.

The three friends snuggled together, looking at the light until their eyes grew heavy. Soon, all that could be heard was three tiny snores. And one great big dino snore.
