Mia and the Jug of Water

Mia is thirsty, but the water is too low in the jug. A clever idea saves the day!

It was a hot, dry day. Mia the mouse was very thirsty. She flew and flew, but all the ponds had dried up. At last, she spotted a jug under a tree.

Mia peeked inside. There was water, but only at the very bottom. Her beak couldn’t reach. She tried to tip the jug, but it was too heavy. Mia was sad and tired.

Then Mia had a clever idea. She picked up a pebble and dropped it in. Plink! The water rose a little. Mia dropped another. Plink! And another.

Plink, plink, plink! Soon the water rose to the top. Mia dipped her beak and drank, and drank. β€˜Ahh,’ sighed Mia. β€˜Thinking helps more than worrying.’
