Nell the lamb packed a picnic basket full of cheese sandwiches and a flask of fizzy juice. ‘The moon is the perfect place for a picnic,’ she said, and zoomed up in the rocket.
On the moon, Nell met Alba the alien, a friendly alien, and Arjun the robot. ‘We love picnics!’ said Alba. They spread a blanket on the grey, dusty ground.
But as soon as Nell unpacked the cheese sandwiches, they floated away! Up they went, one by one, drifting like little balloons. ‘Catch them!’ shouted Nell.
Nell jumped to catch one and flew ten metres in the air. Alba bounced after them and ended up upside down. Arjun did a somersault, beeped and landed in a crater.
Then the fizzy juice popped open, and a big blob of juice floated into the air like a wobbly orange moon. Everyone burst out laughing. They lay on their backs and tried to catch it in their mouths.
After a while, the picnic was all eaten, or at least caught. Nell had juice on her helmet and crumbs in her suit. ‘Best picnic ever,’ she sighed. ‘Same time next week?’ said Alba.
