Ollie’s Colourful Hide-and-Seek
Ollie the octopus is the best hider in the sea. Can anybody find him?
Ollie the octopus could do a clever trick. He could change colour to match anything! Today, he wanted to play hide-and-seek with Finn and Eli.
‘One, two, three, four, five,’ counted Finn, covering his eyes. Ollie wriggled away through the water. He swam to the green seaweed. And he turned green! His arms and body blended in.
Finn opened his eyes. ‘Ready or not, here I come!’ Finn swam over the sandy bed. ‘Are you under this shell? No.’ Finn looked behind the rock. ‘No.’ Finn looked inside a bottle. ‘No.’
Eli looked up and down. ‘Where could Ollie be?’ Eli wondered. They looked all over the sea. Nothing. They looked a second time. Nothing. They were completely stumped.
Then Finn giggled. ‘I can see two eyes!’ Two big eyes were peeking out from the green seaweed, and they were blinking. Ollie burst out laughing, turned back to normal, and everyone cheered.
‘Your turn to hide!’ said Ollie. And so they played again and again, until the water grew dark. They went home with tired fins and happy hearts, and all dreamed of colourful sea games.
