One Boot, Two Boots, Where, Sam?
It’s match day, but Sam can only find one boot. Where could it be?
It was match day! Sam woke up early and pulled on his shirt. But where was his left boot? He had one boot. Only one boot!
Sam looked under the bed. No boot. He looked in the cupboard. No boot. He even looked in the shoe box. Just one very surprised sock.
Outside, Percy the penguin came bouncing along the path. ‘Why the long face?’ asked Percy. ‘I can’t find my boot,’ sighed Sam. ‘Let’s look together!’
They looked high and low. Percy peeked this way. Sam peeked that way. Then Percy gave a great big gasp. ‘Look! Look!’
There was the missing boot, hanging on the washing line! ‘It was drying off in the sun!’ giggled Percy. Sam laughed so hard he got the hiccups.
Sam laced up both boots, tie, tie, tie, and the two friends raced off to Bluebell Common. They arrived just as the whistle was about to blow.
Sam played the best game ever. Both boots on, both feet happy. And after the game, Sam put his boots right by the door, side by side.
