Sia and the Super Squeeze
All the big superheroes are too big to fit. But Sia is just the right size!
In Superhero City, there were many heroes. Gus the giraffe was super strong. Priya the penguin could run super fast. And Sia the squirrel? Sia was very, very small.
‘You can’t be a superhero,’ said the others, kindly. ‘You’re too tiny.’ Sia put on her cape. ‘I will be the best tiny hero ever!’ she said. Her cape was a bit too big, and it dragged on the ground.
One morning, the alarm bell rang. DING-DONG! A little kitten was stuck in a narrow drainpipe. ‘Quick!’ said Gus. Gus tried to squeeze in, but he was too big. Priya tried to reach in, but her arm was too short.
‘Let me try,’ said Sia. She puffed up her chest. She stood up straight. And she squeezed through the pipe and led the kitten out. It was a tight squeeze, but Sia did it!
Everybody cheered. ‘We couldn’t do that!’ said Gus. ‘Thank you, Sia!’ Priya lifted Sia on her shoulders. ‘We need you,’ said Priya. ‘You’re the only one who can fit.’
That evening, Sia sat on a rooftop looking at the glowing city. She smiled. Some days it’s good to be strong. Some days it’s good to be fast. And some days, it’s good to be small.
