The Lost Crown of Isaac
The royal crown has vanished! Isaac follows the clues round the castle.
One morning, Isaac woke up and the royal crown was gone! It was not on its cushion. It was not under the bed. ‘Somebody has taken it,’ said Isaac. ‘Come on, Bear. Let’s find it.’
First, they found a trail of tiny, sparkly footprints on the floor. ‘Look!’ said Bear. They followed the footprints up the stairs and down the corridor, round and round the castle.
Then Isaac found a golden thread caught on a door. And then a shiny feather. And then a smudge of jam. Each clue was a little piece of the puzzle. Isaac thought hard.
Finally the clues led to the kitchen jam cupboard. And there was the crown! It had been taken by a kitten who got sleepy in the jam. It was only borrowed, not stolen.
Isaac wasn’t cross. He gently took the crown back and gave Kira a shiny button to keep instead. Kira smiled and skipped away. Bear said, ‘You’re a great detective, Isaac.’
That evening, Isaac put the crown safely on its cushion. He smiled. A good king or queen is not the one with the crown, but the one who stays calm and solves the problem.
