The Shy Little mouse
Ravi is so shy that he hides from everyone, until a friend needs help.
Ravi the mouse was very, very shy. When anyone said hello, Ravi hid behind a tree. ‘Maybe they won’t notice me,’ he whispered.
One windy day, Stan the tiger came by. Stan was sniffling. ‘I’ve lost my little paper boat,’ said Stan. ‘It blew away, and I can’t find it anywhere.’
Ravi peeked out. He wanted to help, but his voice felt tiny. ‘I... I... ‘ he began. But the words were too small to hear.
Then Ravi saw something shiny high up on a branch. It was the little paper boat! Ravi was small and quick, so he climbed up, up, up, and gently plucked it down.
Ravi tiptoed over to Stan and held out the little paper boat. ‘Oh!’ said Stan. ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you!’ Stan gave Ravi the biggest hug.
‘Would you like to be friends?’ asked Stan. Ravi took a tiny breath. ‘Yes,’ he said. It was the loudest yes he had ever said.
