Aisha Invites a Dragon to Tea
A dragon knocks at the castle door. Aisha decides to be kind and invite it in for tea.
Knock, knock, KNOCK! Someone was at the castle door. Moe the pony peeped through the window and gasped. ‘A dragon!’ he cried. ‘Everyone hide!’
But Aisha was the bravest and kindest in the castle. She walked right up to the door and opened it. There stood Danny the dragon, holding a tiny bunch of flowers. ‘Hello,’ said Danny shyly. ‘Is it teatime?’
‘Oh!’ said Aisha. ‘It is exactly teatime. Please come in.’ Moe nearly fainted, but Aisha led Danny into the great hall and set the table with jam tarts and hot chocolate.
Oh dear, Danny was a very big guest! His tail knocked over a chair. His sneeze blew out all the candles. But Danny said sorry every time, and Aisha only laughed.
At last, Moe crept in. ‘I thought dragons were scary,’ he said. ‘This one is just lonely,’ said Aisha. Moe sat down and took a jam tarts. Soon the three of them were chatting like old friends.
When the stars came out, Danny stood up. ‘Thank you for the loveliest tea ever,’ he said. ‘Come back anytime,’ said Aisha. And every Friday after that, the dragon came to tea.
