The Day Danny Roared Too Loud
Danny is a little monster who finds school very, very hard, until he discovers his own talent.
Danny the dinosaur was starting Monster School. The classroom was full of little monsters. Tomas the unicorn said, ‘Today, we will practise roaring.’ Everyone roared except Danny.
Danny tried to roar, but only a tiny squeak came out. The other monsters giggled. Danny’s cheeks went purple. He wished he could disappear. Dot said, ‘Don’t worry. It takes practice.’
Next was stomping, and Danny stomped too lightly. Then jumping, but Danny bumped his head. Danny felt like the worst monster ever. At lunchtime, he sat alone with a sandwich.
After lunch, Tomas said, ‘Show us what you are best at.’ Danny gulped. Then he twirled in a lovely dance. The class gasped. It was wonderful! Nobody else could do that.
‘You have a gift for dancing,’ said Tomas. Dot grinned. ‘Better than roaring!’ Danny beamed. ‘I’m a good monster after all.’ And from then on, Danny was a star of Monster School.
