Bruno Finds a Home
Bruno has to move to a new meadow and isn’t sure about it, until the neighbours come knocking.
It was moving day. Bruno the bear packed up everything: the cosy bed, the teapot and the little blue chair. ‘Goodbye, old home,’ he whispered, feeling very sad.
The new home was on the far side of the meadow. It was big and empty, and it smelled of fresh earth. Bruno sat in the middle of the floor. ‘I don’t know anybody here,’ he sighed.
Just then: knock, knock, knock! Bruno opened the door. There stood Aisha the panda, holding a bunch of bluebells. ‘Welcome to the neighbourhood!’ said Aisha. ‘I live in the house with the red door.’
Then came knock, knock, knock again! It was Toby the little bird, with a big, friendly grin. ‘I heard we had a new neighbour. I live just up the path. Do you need a hand unpacking?’
Together, they carried the blue chair and the teapot. They hung a picture on the wall. They put the cosy bed by the window, just where the morning sun would come through.
That evening, the three friends sat down to share a bunch of bluebells. Bruno looked around at the warm, bright room, full of laughter. It wasn’t empty anymore. ‘I think,’ he said, ‘I’m going to like it here.’
