Flo and the Missing Sparkle
Flo the fairy wakes up and her sparkle is gone! Where could it have gone?
Flo the fairy woke up in her tiny flower bed. ‘Oh no!’ she cried. She looked in the mirror. Her sparkle was gone! Her wings were plain and her dust wouldn’t glow.
‘I must find my sparkle,’ said Flo. She flew over the garden, high and low. She looked under leaves and behind stones. But there was no sparkle anywhere.
Idris the squirrel was sitting by a puddle, looking sad. ‘My little home is muddy,’ said Idris. ‘I can’t get it clean.’ Flo wanted to look for her sparkle, but she couldn’t leave Idris like that.
Flo helped. She rolled up her sleeves. They scrubbed the floor. They swept the doorstep. They opened the windows. When they finished, Idris’s house was spotless. ‘Thank you!’ said Idris.
Then Idris gasped. ‘Look at your wings!’ Little golden lights were floating around Flo’s shoulders. The sparkle was back! It had been hiding in a puddle all along.
Flo laughed and spun around. ‘My sparkle only shines when I’m kind,’ she said. Then she scattered fairy dust all over the garden. Every flower glowed.
