Otto the Hiding Octopus
Otto the octopus is the best hider in the sea. Can anybody find him?
Otto the octopus could do a clever trick. He could change colour to match anything! Today, he wanted to play hide-and-seek with Cleo and Flo.
βOne, two, three, four, five,β counted Cleo, covering his eyes. Otto wriggled away through the water. He swam to the purple anemone. And he turned purple! His arms and body blended in.
Cleo opened his eyes. βReady or not, here I come!β Cleo swam over the sandy bed. βAre you under this shell? No.β Cleo looked behind the rock. βNo.β Cleo looked inside a bottle. βNo.β
Flo looked up and down. βWhere could Otto be?β Flo wondered. They looked all over the sea. Nothing. They looked a second time. Nothing. They were completely stumped.
Then Cleo giggled. βI can see two eyes!β Two big eyes were peeking out from the purple anemone, and they were blinking. Otto burst out laughing, turned back to normal, and everyone cheered.
βYour turn to hide!β said Otto. And so they played again and again, until the water grew dark. They went home with tired fins and happy hearts, and all dreamed of colourful sea games.
