Isaac the Little Train
A little train has to climb a big hill, and says, βI think I can!β
Isaac the rabbit was a little blue train. He carried baskets of fruit to the children on the other side of the mountain. But between the town and the children stood a very big hill.
Bigger trains had said, βToo steep!β and rolled away. Isaac looked at the hill. It was tall and green. Isaac puffed out his chest. βI think I can,β he said. βI think I can.β
Chuff, chuff, chuff, up the slope went Isaac. Chuff, chuff, chuff. Halfway up, Isaac felt very tired. But he kept saying, βI think I can, I think I can.β Dev cheered beside the track.
At the top, Isaac took a big breath. βI thought I could!β he said. Then down the other side he went, whoosh! The children were waiting, waving and cheering.
They unloaded the baskets of fruit, and the children gave Isaac a big hug. βThank you, little train!β they cried. And Isaac puffed home that evening, singing βI knew I could!β
