Mia, the Smallest Superhero
All the big superheroes are too big to fit. But Mia is just the right size!
In Superhero City, there were many heroes. Leo the lion was super strong. Kai the koala could run super fast. And Mia the little bird? Mia was very, very small.
‘You can’t be a superhero,’ said the others, kindly. ‘You’re too tiny.’ Mia put on her cape. ‘I will be the best tiny hero ever!’ she said. Her cape was a bit too big, and it dragged on the ground.
One morning, the alarm bell rang. DING-DONG! A baby bird’s nest had fallen into a thin hollow tree. ‘Quick!’ said Leo. Leo tried to squeeze in, but he was too big. Kai tried to reach in, but his arm was too short.
‘Let me try,’ said Mia. She puffed up her chest. She stood up straight. And she slipped into the hollow and lifted the nest up. It was a tight squeeze, but Mia did it!
Everybody cheered. ‘We couldn’t do that!’ said Leo. ‘Thank you, Mia!’ Kai lifted Mia on his shoulders. ‘We need you,’ said Kai. ‘You’re the only one who can fit.’
That evening, Mia sat on a rooftop looking at the glowing city. She smiled. Some days it’s good to be strong. Some days it’s good to be fast. And some days, it’s good to be small.
