Nora Invites a Dragon to Tea
A dragon knocks at the castle door. Nora decides to be kind and invite it in for tea.
Knock, knock, KNOCK! Someone was at the castle door. Hugo the hippo peeped through the window and gasped. βA dragon!β he cried. βEveryone hide!β
But Nora was the bravest and kindest in the castle. She walked right up to the door and opened it. There stood Rocco the dragon, holding a tiny bunch of flowers. βHello,β said Rocco shyly. βIs it teatime?β
βOh!β said Nora. βIt is exactly teatime. Please come in.β Hugo nearly fainted, but Nora led Rocco into the great hall and set the table with cherry pies and apple juice.
Oh dear, Rocco was a very big guest! His tail knocked over a chair. His sneeze blew out all the candles. But Rocco said sorry every time, and Nora only laughed.
At last, Hugo crept in. βI thought dragons were scary,β he said. βThis one is just lonely,β said Nora. Hugo sat down and took a cherry pies. Soon the three of them were chatting like old friends.
When the stars came out, Rocco stood up. βThank you for the loveliest tea ever,β he said. βCome back anytime,β said Nora. And every Friday after that, the dragon came to tea.
