Remy’s Kindest Stand on Sia’s Street
Remy opens a lemonade stand to earn money, but ends up giving away more than he sells.
It was a boiling hot day. Remy set up a lemonade stand outside the house with a sign that said, ‘Lemonade 10p’. He was saving up for a football.
The first customer was Sia, who had been playing football. Sia was red-faced and thirsty but had no money. Remy filled a cup anyway. ‘It’s on the house,’ he said. Sia gulped it down with a grin.
Then Leo the turtle came by, looking hot and tired. Remy gave him a cup and a seat in the shade. ‘You’re very kind,’ said Leo. ‘Please, have a second.’
By evening, Remy had given away nearly every cup. Hardly any coins were in the jar. But Remy felt warm inside. ‘Maybe I’ll save up another day,’ he thought.
Just then, Leo came back, carrying something wrapped in paper. ‘I was thinking about your kindness,’ said Leo. Inside was a football. ‘For the kindest lemonade seller in town.’
The little lesson
