Rocco’s Kindest Stand on Ravi’s Street
Rocco opens a lemonade stand to earn money, but ends up giving away more than he sells.
It was a boiling hot day. Rocco set up a lemonade stand outside the house with a sign that said, ‘Lemonade 10p’. He was saving up for a new bicycle.
The first customer was Ravi, who had been playing football. Ravi was red-faced and thirsty but had no money. Rocco filled a cup anyway. ‘It’s on the house,’ he said. Ravi gulped it down with a grin.
Then Olive the owl came by, looking hot and tired. Rocco gave her a cup and a seat in the shade. ‘You’re very kind,’ said Olive. ‘Please, have a second.’
By evening, Rocco had given away nearly every cup. Hardly any coins were in the jar. But Rocco felt warm inside. ‘Maybe I’ll save up another day,’ he thought.
Just then, Olive came back, carrying something wrapped in paper. ‘I was thinking about your kindness,’ said Olive. Inside was a new bicycle. ‘For the kindest lemonade seller in town.’
The little lesson

Let’s talk about it
- Would you give lemonade away?
- Who came to the stand?
