The trees were wearing red, orange and gold. All day, leaves floated down, tick, tick, tick. Felix and Amy the owl took rakes to the garden. ‘Let’s make a leaf pile!’ said Felix.
They raked and raked. The pile grew as tall as Amy. Then as tall as Felix. Then Vik the bear popped out of the pile. ‘Surprise!’ he laughed. Vik had been napping inside.
‘Let’s jump!’ said Felix. One, two, three, and WHOOSH! They flew into the leaves. Crunch! Leaves flew everywhere like confetti. They giggled so much they couldn’t stop.
When they were tired, they sat down and made a leaf necklace from the prettiest leaves. Felix found a golden one the size of a plate. ‘Look at this!’ he cried.
As the sun went down, a gust of wind blew the leaf pile all over again. ‘Let’s do it again tomorrow!’ said Amy. And they did.
