What Did Daisy Bring?

It’s show and tell day at school. Daisy has a mystery box. What’s inside?

It was show and tell day. Everyone had brought something special. Ollie had a toy dinosaur. Another child had a big book. Daisy held a little box tightly, with a secret inside.

‘Now, Daisy,’ said Jack the owl. ‘What have you brought?’ Daisy felt a bit shy. Her thing was so small. What if no one liked it? But she stood up bravely.

Daisy opened the box very slowly. The whole class leaned forward. Inside was a tiny snail! Daisy said, ‘I found it on my walk to school. It made me smile, so I wanted to show you.’

‘Ooooh!’ said the children. Ollie said, ‘Can I hold it?’ Everyone wanted to see. Daisy passed it round carefully, and every face lit up with wonder.

‘What a lovely thing to share,’ said Jack. Daisy beamed. The best things aren’t always big. Sometimes, they’re small and found by someone who looks closely.
