Aisha’s Lemonade Stand
Aisha opens a lemonade stand to earn money, but ends up giving away more than she sells.
It was a boiling hot day. Aisha set up a lemonade stand outside the house with a sign that said, ‘Lemonade 10p’. She was saving up for a new bicycle.
The first customer was Bear, who had been playing football. Bear was red-faced and thirsty but had no money. Aisha filled a cup anyway. ‘It’s on the house,’ she said. Bear gulped it down with a grin.
Then Priya the pony came by, looking hot and tired. Aisha gave her a cup and a seat in the shade. ‘You’re very kind,’ said Priya. ‘Please, have a second.’
By evening, Aisha had given away nearly every cup. Hardly any coins were in the jar. But Aisha felt warm inside. ‘Maybe I’ll save up another day,’ she thought.
Just then, Priya came back, carrying something wrapped in paper. ‘I was thinking about your kindness,’ said Priya. Inside was a new bicycle. ‘For the kindest lemonade seller in town.’
The little lesson
