Beth and the Big Noise
Beth has a tiny voice. One day, it turns out to be just the right size.
In the jungle, everyone had a big voice. Toby the tiger could roar. Enzo the elephant could screech. But Beth the bee could only make a tweet.
βSpeak up!β said everyone. Beth tried and tried, but only a tweet came out. Beth felt sad. βI wish I had a big voice,β she said. Toby gave Beth a hug. βYou are perfect as you are,β he said.
That night, a storm rolled in. Thunder boomed and rain poured. Baby Enzo was lost in the thick leaves. All the big voices called, but the thunder drowned them out.
Beth listened. Between thunder claps, she heard a faint cry. It was high and thin, the kind of sound that big voices couldnβt hear. Beth called back with a tweet. And Enzo heard it.
Following the tiny sound, Enzo found the way home. Everyone cheered. βOnly Beth could make a sound that carries through the storm!β said Toby. Beth grinned.
