Cleo Goes to Monster School
Cleo is a little monster who finds school very, very hard, until she discovers her own talent.
Cleo the dragon was starting Monster School. The classroom was full of little monsters. Otto the unicorn said, ‘Today, we will practise roaring.’ Everyone roared except Cleo.
Cleo tried to roar, but only a tiny squeak came out. The other monsters giggled. Cleo’s cheeks went purple. She wished she could disappear. Priya said, ‘Don’t worry. It takes practice.’
Next was stomping, and Cleo stomped too lightly. Then jumping, but Cleo bumped her head. Cleo felt like the worst monster ever. At lunchtime, she sat alone with a sandwich.
After lunch, Otto said, ‘Show us what you are best at.’ Cleo gulped. Then she twirled in a lovely dance. The class gasped. It was wonderful! Nobody else could do that.
‘You have a gift for dancing,’ said Otto. Priya grinned. ‘Better than roaring!’ Cleo beamed. ‘I’m a good monster after all.’ And from then on, Cleo was a star of Monster School.
