Shy Rocco and the Lost golden key
Rocco is so shy that he hides from everyone, until a friend needs help.
Rocco the rabbit was very, very shy. When anyone said hello, Rocco hid behind a tree. ‘Maybe they won’t notice me,’ he whispered.
One windy day, Beth the bear came by. Beth was sniffling. ‘I’ve lost my golden key,’ said Beth. ‘It blew away, and I can’t find it anywhere.’
Rocco peeked out. He wanted to help, but his voice felt tiny. ‘I... I... ‘ he began. But the words were too small to hear.
Then Rocco saw something shiny high up on a branch. It was the golden key! Rocco was small and quick, so he climbed up, up, up, and gently plucked it down.
Rocco tiptoed over to Beth and held out the golden key. ‘Oh!’ said Beth. ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you!’ Beth gave Rocco the biggest hug.
‘Would you like to be friends?’ asked Beth. Rocco took a tiny breath. ‘Yes,’ he said. It was the loudest yes he had ever said.
