Harvey woke up and the world was white. Snow had fallen in the night, thick and soft. ‘SNOW!’ shouted Harvey. He put on his boots and ran outside.
Cleo the hippo was already there. They rolled a big ball of snow for the body, and a middle ball, and a little ball for the head. Roll, roll, roll! They stacked them up.
For a nose, they used a carrot. For a hat, they found a flowerpot. For eyes, two shiny stones. ‘He needs a name,’ said Cleo. ‘Mr Frost!’ said Harvey.
They made snow angels and had a snowball fight. They slid down the hill on a tray. Their cheeks were pink and their noses were cold. ‘This is the best day!’ said Harvey.
At night, Harvey watched Mr Frost from the window. ‘Goodnight,’ he whispered. And with hot cocoa in hand, Harvey dreamed of snow all night.
