Willow woke up and the world was white. Snow had fallen in the night, thick and soft. ‘SNOW!’ shouted Willow. She put on her boots and ran outside.
Sam the squirrel was already there. They rolled a big ball of snow for the body, and a middle ball, and a little ball for the head. Roll, roll, roll! They stacked them up.
For a nose, they used a pine cone. For a hat, they found a bobble hat. For eyes, two shiny stones. ‘He needs a name,’ said Sam. ‘Mr Frost!’ said Willow.
They made snow angels and had a snowball fight. They slid down the hill on a tray. Their cheeks were pink and their noses were cold. ‘This is the best day!’ said Willow.
At night, Willow watched Mr Frost from the window. ‘Goodnight,’ she whispered. And with hot cocoa in hand, Willow dreamed of snow all night.
