The trees were wearing red, orange and gold. All day, leaves floated down, tick, tick, tick. Ravi and Luca the lamb took rakes to the garden. ‘Let’s make a leaf pile!’ said Ravi.
They raked and raked. The pile grew as tall as Luca. Then as tall as Ravi. Then Rocco the owl popped out of the pile. ‘Surprise!’ he laughed. Rocco had been napping inside.
‘Let’s jump!’ said Ravi. One, two, three, and WHOOSH! They flew into the leaves. Crunch! Leaves flew everywhere like confetti. They giggled so much they couldn’t stop.
When they were tired, they sat down and made a leaf crown from the prettiest leaves. Ravi found a golden one the size of a plate. ‘Look at this!’ he cried.
As the sun went down, a gust of wind blew the leaf pile all over again. ‘Let’s do it again tomorrow!’ said Luca. And they did.
