The Great Pancake Flip of Louie

Louie tries to flip a pancake, and it lands in a very surprising place.

It was Pancake Day. Louie mixed flour, eggs and milk in a big bowl. Leo the cow stirred. The batter was smooth and creamy. ‘Time to cook!’ said Louie.

Louie poured batter into the pan. Sizzle! It turned golden. ‘Now for the flip,’ he said proudly. He gave the pan a big toss. WHOOSH! The pancake flew up, up, up.

And it landed on the dog! Splat! Leo stared. Louie stared. Then they both burst out laughing. ‘Try again!’ said Leo. This time, Louie flipped it just right.

Soon there was a tall stack of pancakes. They added sweet syrup, juicy strawberries and a big blob of cream. ‘Perfect,’ sighed Louie. And that was the last thing either of them said for a long, delicious while.
