Wait for It, Daisy!
Daisy plants a seed and waits. And waits. And waits some more.
In spring, Bella the bear gave Daisy a tiny seed. βItβs a carrot,β said Bella. βPlant it in the soil, give it water and sun, and be patient.β Daisy dug a little hole.
Every morning, Daisy ran to look. Nothing. Not even a sprout. βIs it broken?β she asked Xena. βPlants take time,β said Xena. Daisy sighed, but watered the soil once more.
A week passed. Then two. Then, one morning, Daisy saw something green poking up. A tiny shoot, no bigger than a thumb. Daisy gasped. βItβs growing!β Xena danced round and round.
Soon the shoot was a stem, with leaves and then a bud. Daisy watered it, sang to it and shielded it from the wind. And one sunny day, the bud opened, and there was a beautiful carrot.
βYou waited so patiently,β said Bella. Daisy smiled at the carrot. βIt was worth every day,β she said. And she saved a seed for next spring.
