Whoosh! Where Did Faye’s Hat Go?

A gust of wind blows Faye’s hat away, and it lands in some very silly places.

Faye the frog had a new purple top hat. It was the best hat in the whole world. Faye wore it to the park and spun round and round. ‘Look at me!’ she cried.

But then, WHOOSH! A strong gust of wind blew by and plucked the hat right off Faye’s head! It flew up, up, up into the sky. ‘My hat!’ shouted Faye. ‘Come back!’

Faye ran after it. The hat sailed over the fence and landed on the head of a scarecrow. ‘Oh dear,’ said Ben, who had come running. ‘How will we get it back?’ But then WHOOSH! The hat blew away again.

It bounced on a haystack. It spun round the weather vane. It dropped into a bucket and flipped out again. Faye, Ben and Leo the lamb chased it everywhere.

At last, the wind got tired. The hat drifted down, down, down, and landed with a soft plop on Faye’s head, right where it belonged. Everybody stared. Then everybody cheered!

‘I think the wind just wanted to dance,’ laughed Ben. Faye took a ribbon and tied it under her chin. Now the hat would stay on. And if the wind wanted to dance again, Faye would dance with it.
