Whoosh! Where Did Tara’s Hat Go?
A gust of wind blows Tara’s hat away, and it lands in some very silly places.
Tara the turtle had a new bright red hat. It was the best hat in the whole world. Tara wore it to the park and spun round and round. ‘Look at me!’ she cried.
But then, WHOOSH! A strong gust of wind blew by and plucked the hat right off Tara’s head! It flew up, up, up into the sky. ‘My hat!’ shouted Tara. ‘Come back!’
Tara ran after it. The hat sailed over the fence and landed on the horns of a cow. ‘Oh dear,’ said Mia, who had come running. ‘How will we get it back?’ But then WHOOSH! The hat blew away again.
It bounced on a haystack. It spun round the weather vane. It dropped into a bucket and flipped out again. Tara, Mia and Ruby the rabbit chased it everywhere.
At last, the wind got tired. The hat drifted down, down, down, and landed with a soft plop on Tara’s head, right where it belonged. Everybody stared. Then everybody cheered!
‘I think the wind just wanted to dance,’ laughed Mia. Tara took a ribbon and tied it under her chin. Now the hat would stay on. And if the wind wanted to dance again, Tara would dance with it.
