Willow Brings a Surprise

It’s show and tell day at school. Willow has a mystery box. What’s inside?

It was show and tell day. Everyone had brought something special. Xena had a toy dinosaur. Another child had a big book. Willow held a little box tightly, with a secret inside.

‘Now, Willow,’ said Daisy the turtle. ‘What have you brought?’ Willow felt a bit shy. Her thing was so small. What if no one liked it? But she stood up bravely.

Willow opened the box very slowly. The whole class leaned forward. Inside was a shiny stone! Willow said, ‘I found it on my walk to school. It made me smile, so I wanted to show you.’

‘Ooooh!’ said the children. Xena said, ‘Can I hold it?’ Everyone wanted to see. Willow passed it round carefully, and every face lit up with wonder.

‘What a lovely thing to share,’ said Daisy. Willow beamed. The best things aren’t always big. Sometimes, they’re small and found by someone who looks closely.
