Faye Invites a Dragon to Tea
A dragon knocks at the castle door. Faye decides to be kind and invite it in for tea.
Knock, knock, KNOCK! Someone was at the castle door. Rory the zebra peeped through the window and gasped. βA dragon!β he cried. βEveryone hide!β
But Faye was the bravest and kindest in the castle. She walked right up to the door and opened it. There stood Dylan the dragon, holding a tiny bunch of flowers. βHello,β said Dylan shyly. βIs it teatime?β
βOh!β said Faye. βIt is exactly teatime. Please come in.β Rory nearly fainted, but Faye led Dylan into the great hall and set the table with butter scones and berry tea.
Oh dear, Dylan was a very big guest! His tail knocked over a chair. His sneeze blew out all the candles. But Dylan said sorry every time, and Faye only laughed.
At last, Rory crept in. βI thought dragons were scary,β he said. βThis one is just lonely,β said Faye. Rory sat down and took a butter scones. Soon the three of them were chatting like old friends.
When the stars came out, Dylan stood up. βThank you for the loveliest tea ever,β he said. βCome back anytime,β said Faye. And every Friday after that, the dragon came to tea.
