Flo Swims Out to Sea
Flo is a little fish with a big wish: to see what lies beyond the coral reef.
Flo was a little fish who lived in the coral reef. Every day, she swam round the same rocks and the same pink coral, and every day she wondered, βWhatβs out there, beyond the reef?β
One morning, Flo took a deep gulp of water and swam out past the last piece of coral. The sea became blue, and bigger, and deeper. Floβs fins went flutter-flutter-flutter.
Then a great shadow floated overhead. It was Hattie the whale! βHello, little one,β said Hattie, in a voice like a deep, warm hum. βWhere are you going?β βIβm exploring,β said Flo, a little bit squeaky.
βHop on,β said Hattie. Flo swam up and sat on the whaleβs back. They glided over a shipwreck full of treasure. Floβs eyes grew as round as pearls. There was so much to see!
Soon, Jack the jellyfish waved from a rock. βDonβt go too far!β called Jack. βItβs nearly teatime!β Flo suddenly noticed a little rumble in her tummy. She missed her home.
Hattie gave Flo a ride all the way back to the reef. βThank you,β said Flo. βI saw so many wonders.β βYou can see more tomorrow,β said Hattie. And Flo swam home to sleep in her cosy coral bed.
