Pancake Day with Dot
Dot tries to flip a pancake, and it lands in a very surprising place.
It was Pancake Day. Dot mixed flour, eggs and milk in a big bowl. Layla the owl stirred. The batter was smooth and creamy. ‘Time to cook!’ said Dot.
Dot poured batter into the pan. Sizzle! It turned golden. ‘Now for the flip,’ she said proudly. She gave the pan a big toss. WHOOSH! The pancake flew up, up, up.
And it landed on the window! Splat! Layla stared. Dot stared. Then they both burst out laughing. ‘Try again!’ said Layla. This time, Dot flipped it just right.
Soon there was a tall stack of pancakes. They added sweet syrup, juicy strawberries and a big blob of cream. ‘Perfect,’ sighed Dot. And that was the last thing either of them said for a long, delicious while.
