Who Is Making That Noise, Moe?
Moe hears a strange knock in the night. Who could it be?
It was night, and the stars were out. Moe the mouse was snuggled in bed, nearly asleep. Then, rustle, rustle, rustle. Moe sat up. ‘What was that?’
Moe pulled the blanket up to his nose. Rustle, rustle, rustle went the noise again. Moe tiptoed to the door and peeked outside. Nobody there. Just the dark.
Moe went to wake Felix the fox. ‘I heard something,’ whispered Moe. ‘Let’s find out what it is,’ said Felix. ‘Together, we aren’t afraid.’
They crept along the path. Rustle, rustle, rustle went the noise. It was coming from behind a big tree. Moe held Felix’s hand tightly. ‘One, two, three... Look!’
And there was Bruno the bee! ‘Oh, hello,’ said Bruno. ‘I’m sorry to wake you. I could not find the way home.’ Moe felt silly for being afraid. He smiled.
They took Bruno home for warm milk and a cosy blanket. Soon all three friends were fast asleep. And the only noise in the night was gentle snoring.
