Cleo Brings a Surprise
It’s show and tell day at school. Cleo has a mystery box. What’s inside?
It was show and tell day. Everyone had brought something special. Yuki had a toy dinosaur. Another child had a big book. Cleo held a little box tightly, with a secret inside.
‘Now, Cleo,’ said Tilly the turtle. ‘What have you brought?’ Cleo felt a bit shy. Her thing was so small. What if no one liked it? But she stood up bravely.
Cleo opened the box very slowly. The whole class leaned forward. Inside was a feather! Cleo said, ‘I found it on my walk to school. It made me smile, so I wanted to show you.’
‘Ooooh!’ said the children. Yuki said, ‘Can I hold it?’ Everyone wanted to see. Cleo passed it round carefully, and every face lit up with wonder.
‘What a lovely thing to share,’ said Tilly. Cleo beamed. The best things aren’t always big. Sometimes, they’re small and found by someone who looks closely.
