Hana Finds a Friend
Hana is so shy that she hides from everyone, until a friend needs help.
Hana the hedgehog was very, very shy. When anyone said hello, Hana hid behind a log. βMaybe they wonβt notice me,β she whispered.
One windy day, Nina the giraffe came by. Nina was sniffling. βIβve lost my lucky star,β said Nina. βIt blew away, and I canβt find it anywhere.β
Hana peeked out. She wanted to help, but her voice felt tiny. βI... I... β she began. But the words were too small to hear.
Then Hana saw something shiny high up on a branch. It was the lucky star! Hana was small and quick, so she climbed up, up, up, and gently plucked it down.
Hana tiptoed over to Nina and held out the lucky star. βOh!β said Nina. βThank you, thank you, thank you!β Nina gave Hana the biggest hug.
βWould you like to be friends?β asked Nina. Hana took a tiny breath. βYes,β she said. It was the loudest yes she had ever said.
