Pancake Day with Arlo
Arlo tries to flip a pancake, and it lands in a very surprising place.
It was Pancake Day. Arlo mixed flour, eggs and milk in a big bowl. Max the monkey stirred. The batter was smooth and creamy. ‘Time to cook!’ said Arlo.
Arlo poured batter into the pan. Sizzle! It turned golden. ‘Now for the flip,’ he said proudly. He gave the pan a big toss. WHOOSH! The pancake flew up, up, up.
And it landed on top of the cat! Splat! Max stared. Arlo stared. Then they both burst out laughing. ‘Try again!’ said Max. This time, Arlo flipped it just right.
Soon there was a tall stack of pancakes. They added sweet syrup, juicy strawberries and a big blob of cream. ‘Perfect,’ sighed Arlo. And that was the last thing either of them said for a long, delicious while.
