Pancake Day with Vera
Vera tries to flip a pancake, and it lands in a very surprising place.
It was Pancake Day. Vera mixed flour, eggs and milk in a big bowl. Sana the squirrel stirred. The batter was smooth and creamy. ‘Time to cook!’ said Vera.
Vera poured batter into the pan. Sizzle! It turned golden. ‘Now for the flip,’ she said proudly. She gave the pan a big toss. WHOOSH! The pancake flew up, up, up.
And it landed on the ceiling fan! Splat! Sana stared. Vera stared. Then they both burst out laughing. ‘Try again!’ said Sana. This time, Vera flipped it just right.
Soon there was a tall stack of pancakes. They added sweet syrup, juicy strawberries and a big blob of cream. ‘Perfect,’ sighed Vera. And that was the last thing either of them said for a long, delicious while.
