Maya’s Giant Sneeze
Maya has a tickly nose. When the sneeze finally comes, it’s the biggest sneeze ever!
Maya the mouse was walking through the meadow when a ticklish whisker floated right under her nose. Tickle, tickle, tickle. Maya’s nose twitched. ‘Oh no,’ she said.
‘A... A... A...’ said Maya. Bear the kitten and Pearl the pony looked up. ‘A... A... A...’ said Maya, wobbling. ‘Is Maya going to sneeze?’ whispered Bear.
‘A... A... A... CHOOOOO!’ It was the biggest sneeze in the world. It was so big that all the balloons in the meadow flew up into the air! WHOOSH!
Bear was blown backwards. Pearl spun in a circle like a top. Maya was blown the other way, and landed on her bottom in a muddy puddle. ‘Oof!’ said Maya.
There was a silence. Then Bear started to giggle. Then Pearl giggled. Soon all three were rolling on the grass, laughing so hard that their tummies hurt.
‘Bless you!’ said Bear. Maya grinned. She wiped her nose and looked at the balloons, fluttering down everywhere. ‘That,’ she said, ‘was the best sneeze ever.’
